If you do this before the end of the year, matching funding can double the amount received.In Michigan, you’re never farther than six miles from a body of water, so it’s logical that you can find a waterfront bed and breakfast or a B&B set further back, with rooms offering commanding views of a lake. We need YOU to help the Lake Owen Association keep Lake Owen the “Healthiest Lake” by making a tax deductible 501(c)(3) donation or pledge to the Lake Owen Association Preservation and Protection Endowment Fund. To name just a few immediate and nearby threats: Zebra Mussels are found in Lake Superior and Big McKenzie Lake in Washburn County, and Eurasian Water Milfoil is present in Lake Namakagon, Lake Hayward, and Big Round Lake.
Invasive plants and animals cause damage to natural systems by displacing native species. The biggest expense in keeping Lake Owen as Wisconsin’s Healthiest Lake is preventing invasive species. To maintain current efforts, our goal is to raise $2,500,000. The Lake Owen Association has a donor who has pledged up to $100,000 to match new pledges/donations to the Lake Owen Association Preservation and Protection Endowment Fund received before December 31, 2021. Lake Owen has been described by the Wisconsin DNR as “Wisconsin’s Healthiest Lake.” In 2021, the DNR rating of Lake Owen’s fish and aquatic life was “excellent.” You can help keep it that way by making a donation or pledge today!
